Tree Pruning Operations:
Crown raise: Prune lower branches to raise the trees canopy height.
Crown reduction: Prune the outer tips of the branches to reduce the trees overall canopy size.
Crown thinning: Prune selected branches to reduce the trees canopy density.
Tree removal-(felling/sectional dismantling): The removal of trees that are dead, severely diseased, structurally compromised or within areas that have been approved for development; methods include sectional rigging or straight felling.
Tree planting: We apply the “right tree, right place” principle—matching species, nursery stock type and pit design to soil, micro-climate and ultimate size, following BS 8545 from nursery to establishment.
All works are carried out to British Standards 3998:2010 ‘Tree Work – Recommendations’.

Forestry Services
Clearfell & restock: The mature stand is felled in one operation and the site is replanted or allowed to regenerate, producing an even-aged second rotation.
Shelterwood (uniform or strip): Regeneration is encouraged under partial shade by removing the overstorey in two or three planned cuts; strip shelterwoods are favoured on windy sites. The method gives reliable natural regeneration of mid- to shade-tolerant species while limiting exposure damage.
Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF): Small groups or individual trees are harvested on short cycles so that a canopy is retained at all times, promoting uneven-aged structure and species diversity.
Simple coppice: All stems are cut back to stools on short rotations (e.g., 7–25 years) to produce multiple shoots for poles, firewood or biomass.
Coppice with standards: Retains a scatter of long-rotation “standards” (often oak or ash) above a regularly cut coppice layer, yielding both small-diameter produce and occasional high-quality sawlogs while enhancing structural and wildlife diversity.
